Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In her new position she is responsible for covering everything from NASA as well as the new Space Force, to commercial space companies and the advent to space tourism. As the daughter of 2 NASA astronauts Kristin grew up in the field of space and has worked for the past five years covering the Biden and Trump Administration's space policies as an White House Correspondent for FOX News. Also, she covered the 2020 presidential campaign as well as the efforts of two administrations in fighting the coronavirus. Kristin traveled extensively, both with the president and vice-president. She was even on a secret trip to Afghanistan along with Donald Trump. Kristin has worked in the regional news market of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as Washington, D.C. for more than a decade prior to becoming a part of the network. She was awarded an Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. for her work as a CBS affiliate's single-man reporter. Kristin's expertise as a camerawoman helped her establish Field Mouse Films which specialized making documentary-style videos for clients of corporate nature, including Uber Hotels and Resorts as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned a bachelors of Science of Journalism at Boston University. Kristin lives with husband, daughter, and her 3-year-old daughter in Washington, D.C.
