The film was met with mixed praise. Anushka appeared alongside Ranveer in the movie 'Band Baaja Baaraat' in which she played an Punjabi middle-class girl who started her own business. It received positive reviews. Anushka's contract to make three movies under Yash Raj Films was completed with Band Baaja Baaraat.
